SO, acting. I know there’s plenty of talk out there about me being in this series or that movie.

We’ll leave all that for now. What I will say is that I am having acting lessons. Not as far-fetched as it sounds. The very best in Strongman are all showmen. We’re used to portraying ourselves at the extremes of our personalities. Let’s face it, if you’re a wallflower the strongman scene probably isn’t going to be for you.

It’s all about creating a buzz, an atmosphere, drawing the audience in and making them feel part of the experience. That all comes from within, a button we press to switch to showtime. Let’s face it, when we get home we don’t walk through the door roaring and beating our chests. The neighbours wouldn’t like it.

What kind of parts might come my way? Well, I don’t think many directors will be lining me up for a romantic lead. I think I’m more in the mode of the classic baddie, the Bond villain. They’ll be wanting to make the most of my stature. It could, after all, be seen as slightly intimidating. Although everyone knows that really I’m a pussycat.

I have to think of other directions to take my talent because obviously strongman won’t last forever. It will end for me at some point and then I have to start thinking what I’ll do with myself. As you might have noticed I’m not one for sitting around. I like testing myself and acting is another way to do that as well as meeting some great people.

Who knows where it will take me, but as soon as I have any news I’ll let you know. In the meantime, maybe I’ll have a crack at lifting the Hollywood sign!

Big Love
